Ford is a car company that has helped many other smaller car makers. They’ve done this more than any other big car company. While some big car companies haven’t worked much with smaller ones, Ford has given them help in many ways.

Ford has made many different types of engines, both big and small. One famous car that used Ford engines is the Cobra, which was designed by Carroll Shelby. On the side of the Cobra, you can see the words “Powered by Ford,” showing that Ford helped make it. This car did well in races, making Shelby and Ford proud.

Now, let’s talk about some other cars that used Ford engines but were not made by Ford themselves.

Dellow:

In the years just after World War II, there weren’t many sports cars in the UK. Dellow Motors made a car called the Dellow to fill this gap. It was good for things like racing and hill climbing. The first Dellow used a Ford engine, and they kept making them until 1956.

Allard J2:

In 1950, a car called the Allard J2 came out. It had a unique look with cycle wings. This car and later versions like the J2X helped Allard become well-known, especially in the USA. They offered different engines, including ones from Ford.

Paramount:

Made from 1950 to 1956, the Paramount was a special car. It was made in two places in the UK. It used engines from Ford, either a smaller one or a bigger one. They only made about 72 of them.

Italmeccanica IT160:

This car, made in 1950, had a unique look, thanks to Italian designers. It used a Ford V8 engine for power. Sadly, this project didn’t go very far.

Allard P-type:

In 1952, this car won the Rallye Monte-Carlo race. It was a big deal because it had been a long time since a British driver won. The P-type used engines from Ford and Mercury.

These cars show how Ford has helped many different car makers over the years. They’ve provided engines for some famous and not-so-famous cars, helping them succeed on the road and on the race track.
